Flashguns compatible with a Nikon F4 film camera

Post  Trev_Swann on Fri Dec 27, 2013 7:32 am

I have recently acquired a Nikon F4 camera, the intention is to use it for B&W photography. My question is; can I use my Sigma EF-610DG Super with it, or will I have to look around for an older flashgun, if so what would be the recommended gun(s) to go for?

Compatible flash guns

Trev.
Unfortunately I cannot help directly but I had a similar quandary last year; I have a Minolta flash gun which was for an old Minolta dynax 7. I was hoping it would fit my Canon 7D.
But simply looking at the connection points on the hot shoe proved that it would not suit; the connections were entirely different.
If your connections look the same then why not just test it.

Thanks John, I posted the same question on the AP forum, and got several replies, it would seem that the Nikon SB24 is the one to go for. So I had a look at Fforde's web site and after a phone call I am now the owner of a mint condition SB24 c/w instructions etc.
Now all I need is a refresher course in b/w darkroom processing, something I've only done a few times and that was many moons ago.....!!!
