Avocets at Upton Warren
It is well worth a visit to the Worcestershire Nature Concervancy site at Upton Warren to see the only inland breading Avocets. When I went " weeks ago there were 11 pares with 24 chicks .
They are there because the scrape ponds are the remains of old salt working in the area hence the brackish water that they love. Also look out for the LITTLE Ring plover distinguisher from the ring plover by it's yellow eye ring.

Nice images
Trevor.
Thanks for this info, I will certainly make a visit.
Nice images and pleased to see you uploaded low res as we have limited space on the forum.
For larger images you can always use a link to other storage places like Flickr if you have an account.
I will somehow try and let everyone know about this point.
