We have a Canon Pixma Pro9000 mk2 Printer. It always seem to need ink!!
Does anyone use compatible inks? Are they any good? Or should we stay with the Canon?
Any advice will be much appreciated.
Thanks

Hi
I have the canon Pro 9500 MkII,  I've had the printer nearly 2 years and have always used genuine canon inks the 9500 is the pigment ink version of the 9000 dye ink.
A couple of weeks  ago I received a offer from IJT inks for a complete set of inks for £45.00 that's half the price of a set of genuine canon inks. I wish I had never bothered with them, the blacks are terrible, I've wasted so much paper and time trying to get a decent print I've binned them and gone back to genuine canon inks. I purchase mine from 7dayshop.com 15ml pigment ink cartridge works out at £8-33, they are listed on the site at £9-99 but if you order more than one you receive a discount. Link to 7dayshop.com http://www.7dayshop.com/inkjet-cartridges-paper-toner/inkjet-cartridges?pfMake=149&pfType=871&pfModel=24870
Hope this helps

Hi Digitaljohn,
Did you re-profile your printer and paper when you changed to the cheaper ink cartridges?
If so what method did you use?

Hi Barb Lander,
Using ink cartridges other than from printer manufacturers can give inconsistent results because quality control from batch to batch is less rigorous. To get around this problem I use refillable cartridges filled from large bulk inks so that re-profiling is only needed occasionally.
For all printing profiling of monitor, printer and each paper used is most important. The club uses a Colormunki for profiling and used to allow members to borrow it as it costs about £300 and is only needed occasionally.
